Secret engagements are some of my absolute favourite moments to photograph. The nerves, the anticipation and that split second when everything becomes real. I welcome all love, always, and I’m here to capture it exactly as it feels: honest, emotional, and beautifully unfiltered. I’ll be your master of disguise, tucked away where no one can see me, or blending effortlessly into the background if that’s what the moment needs. From helping you plan the surprise to setting the scene with thoughtful details like picnics or meaningful locations, I’ve got you covered every step of the way. I also work with an incredibly talented florist who can create stunning florals for the day, adding that extra layer of magic. Your only job is to be present and I’ll take care of preserving the moment forever.

On the day

On the day itself, everything will already be thoughtfully pre-planned with the proposer to ensure the experience feels calm, seamless, and stress free. We’ll decide on the perfect location, timing, and any setup needed ahead of time, so all you need to do is focus on the moment. I’ll arrive early, get into position, and be ready well before the question is popped. Once the magic happens and the “yes” is said, we’ll ease straight into a relaxed couples session capturing the joy, laughter, and just-engaged glow while the emotions are still fresh. It’s all about preserving not just the proposal, but the beautiful memories that follow.

In Scotland, we know there will always be a very high chance of rain. Don’t worry, I’ll never ask you to come along in soggy weather, we can easily reschedule and wait for the clouds to pass. But if light drizzle doesn’t faze you we can make it an opportunity! Weather can add mood, and depth to your story, and if the skies open up, we can lean into the magic of it. Whether it’s misty and atmospheric, a soft drizzle adding romance, or a full downpour turning the session into something wild and cinematic, we embrace it.
If the rain is light, we’ll let it weave into the story—hoods up, hands intertwined, laughter spilling out as raindrops kiss your skin. If it’s heavy and you’re up for adventure, we’ll chase the storm, dance in the rain, and capture something raw and unforgettable. And if staying dry feels best, we’ll find cover under trees, letting the world blur around us while the moment stays intimate.
There’s no wrong way to embrace the weather. We’ll adapt, create, and make magic—rain or shine.
For a cinematic, romantic feel, think soft, textured, and timeless outfits that complement the natural surroundings and enhance the emotion of the moment.
- Earthy, muted tones – Deep browns, forest greens, warm rust, soft creams, charcoal, or dusky blues create a rich, organic palette that blends beautifully with nature.
- Flowy, layered fabrics – Linen, cotton, wool, or knits add movement and depth, helping capture that effortless, cinematic aesthetic.
- Soft textures & subtle patterns – Avoid bold prints or bright colors—keep it understated, allowing connection and emotion to take center stage.
- Barefoot or worn-in boots – If we’re in nature, going barefoot adds a raw, intimate feel. Leather boots or neutral-toned shoes work well if you want a slightly rugged look.
- Oversized jumpers, long coats, or draped shawls – These add coziness and allow movement, making the images feel immersive and natural.
- Minimal accessories – Simple rings, dainty necklaces, or earthy details like a felt hat or woven scarf add subtle visual interest without overpowering the mood.
